Gold Coast Travelogue, Summer 2012/13
We touched down, got a car and drove down to Surfers Paradise. Even though the sky was grey-blue and not azure like my indecisive Melbourne, it was a beautiful day. As we got closer to Surfers, the sky got bluer. It was as though we were travelling on a colour wheel that only had blue and grey tones. Dreary as it may sound, it wasn't. Once we reached Surfers, we left our bags with our hotel's reception then went for lunch. Hot and humid as it was, we still went ahead to look for a ramen shop my sister went to a few years back. She insisted it was the best ramen in Australia back then, so you can only imagine how disappointed we were when we tried the sub-standard food there. But we should've figured it out, when she last went, there was a long queue, and they had to wait for a seat. When we went, the shop was almost empty. I didn't care though, by then it was noon and I was starving. The heat didn't make things any better and I was feeling extremely lethargic, surprising seeing as how I slept the whole time on the flight.
