College Fashionista X Vcluxe #11

STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Little Red Riding Hood

Laundry week can be tough, but that does not give anyone an excuse to be unstylish. Even if it is not laundry week. Many of us face the first world "I have nothing to wear, even though my closet is full of clothes" problem. So what do you do when you are in a pickle like this? One look at this Fashionista, and you will know... cape it up.

This Fashionista's eye-catching red cape does exactly that, not that you need an excuse to wear this stunning item. The cape can be flashy and flamboyant, but if you have a flair for flare, this is a must have in your closet. Think of it as a modern day Pashmina. Depending on the cut and style, the cape can be used as an alternative to a winter coat like what this Fashionista did, or for formal social events. Look how effortless and elegant Gwyneth Paltrow looked when she rocked Tom Ford's white caped gown at the 2012 Oscars. This Fashionista went one step further, subtly matching her shoes with the colour of her cape, adding an extra sense of balance to her outfit.

If you are looking for something to keep you warm in this exceptionally cold and windy winter we have been having, this Felted Wool winter cape will definitely do the trick. I would personally go for this Vince Cape though, it is billowing, bold and just plain fun! But that's just me. This gorgeous Column Cape by Oak will certainly be an enjoyable one to own. My point is, the cape is fabulous. Wearing one, long or short, will definitely turn heads... especially with the Batman fever we've all been having!
