takin' it easy

[Jakarta, Indonesia]

Back in Indonesia. Where the music is a generation behind, the beer cheap and the food great. It took us 6 and a 1/2 hours to get here but here I am now... in a big house. I was brought here by a big car... from another big house. Everything here is big. Go big or don't go at all right?

First 7 hours here and I've already gotten a mosquito bite. That's one of the few things I don't like about Asia -- the insects and bugs. I drowned in the humidity the moment we landed. As weird as it sounds, it felt like I was moving slower because the air was more dense. I had to push through the microbursts of the water lingering in the air, swimming towards the seemingly drearer and drearer future of actually getting a whiff of cool, dry air.

This will only last a few days though. I'll eventually get used to this familiar sweltering weather I grew up with. In the mean time, dry shampoo should do the trick for the next few days. Either that or I'd just have to plan my schedule around places with air conditioning. But that is definitely not the way to experience Jakarta.
