[Jakarta, Indonesia]

Today is, by far, the hottest day I've experienced since being back in Melbourne. Fitting for the first day of Chinese New Year I guess. My mom was telling me that CNY's in Singapore were the best. She used to dress up in the traditional chinese clothes to go "bai nian" with her siblings, when she was young. Chinese collars that would prick their necks, beads of sweat rolling down their spines and almost passing out from the heat and sheer exhaustion aside, they always had a blast.
Of course, this tradition of visiting relatives has been shot dead since I moved to Melbourne. I rarely go back to Singapore now, and even when I do, I'm always back in Australia for the next school term in January, missing any chance of celebrating the new year back home. I do miss the chinese new year goodies, being with my family... and getting my share of "hong baos" of course!

And yes, I do realize that the visuals have nothing to do with what I said above. Pictures taken from when I had burgundy (roky's favourite colour) hair in Jakarta. The purple has faded off since.

OH YEAH... HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!
