You make the darkness disappear
The view from my mom's apartment at Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR)

Supper in the middle of the desert, after a long trip riding the sand dunes.
Dinner was accompanied by belly dancing from the best belly dancer in Dubai, while you eat.

The sky was so beautiful.

Lunch with mommy :)

Chilling by the beach with mommy on a lazy afternoon :) I miss her so much! Dubai was totally worth the 7 hour flight to see her heehee

Dubai Mall - my favourite shopping mall in the whole wide world (literally)!

I miss dubai so much! I don't know why, I have this sense of attachment to the place. I don't know if its the beach, the shopping, the scenery, the service, the company or basically everything else, but I feel at home when I'm there. Im guessing its largely because it was good time spent visiting my mom. I wish I was back there now. And just because I love Dubai so much I shall promote it by giving a list of common Misconceptions about Dubai incase any of you are refraining from going there!

Common Misconceptions about Dubai:
  1. It is not hot all year round! From October - February its winter for them. Of course the weather won't really be cold but its like spring here in Melbourne, perfect weather! Sunny with cool breezes.
  2. You have to be 21 to club/drink, not 18! And yes, there is alcohol in Dubai (unlike some other parts of the middle east).
  3. Women have more freedom in Dubai than in other Arab states. Yes I wore shorts and it was not disrespectful in any way! (well, mainly because I was a foreigner...) But still, skimpy clothes should be refrained from but its not the end of the world if you wear shorts and a shirt! So don't refrain from going to Dubai because of Sex and the City 2!
  4. The people in Dubai are really nice and friendly! They won't give you shrewd looks just because you're different (race, looks, skin colour etc.)
  5. About  80% of the population is made up of foreigners.

OK, I know this list is very unfinished but those are the mainpoints (to me). Feel free to ask me any questions you might have :) X
